Banners and flags allow you to add accessories such as grommets, bungees and hanging clips, as well as additional features like reinforced edges or hemming. To ensure that important elements of your design are not cut off or hidden by these additional features, it's very important to keep all key text and graphics within the safe area.
SAFE AREA: where to locate it
Always follow the guidelines provided in our template to correctly lay out your design. Remember to download the template only after filling out the fields in the quote form: this way, it will already have the correct dimensions and include all the information you need.
The solid red line marks the safe area.
The other lines indicate:
Black circles: grommets. Be careful not to place text or graphic elements that need to remain legible in this area
Magenta line: cut. Indicates where the material will be cut along the perimeter. Always use the safe area as a reference to avoid losing important content
Green line: bleed. Always extend the background color up to this line to prevent visible white edges where the material will be folded or cut
If you use our online Designer, the line indicating the safe area is green.
SAFE AREA: What is it for?
In the printing industry, a "mechanical shift" of 1-2 mm is a natural part of the trimming process. It is important to place text and graphic elements within the safe area to prevent them from being cut off or positioned too close to the edge, which could result in an unprofessional look.
Please pay special attention to placing important text and graphic elements inside the safe area, especially if your product includes accessories or additional features.

Always place relevant text and graphics within the safe area to ensure a high-quality result.
